As part of our commitment to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our Members, Police Health offers counselling benefits through our Rolling Extras cover.

Benefits are payable for one-on-one sessions, couples/family sessions and group sessions.

As the counselling profession is unregulated, benefits are only claimable by recognised providers.

In order to qualify as recognised providers, counsellor’s must be registered as a level  3 or 4 counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association Inc (ACA) or, a counsellor or psychotherapist with Clinical Membership with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) and be in private practice and meet a set of practice and educational criteria.*

This ensures our members can have confidence in the counsellors we recognise.
Use our find a Counsellor search tool below or contact us on 1800 603 603 if you'd like to check if your Counsellor is recognised for benefits.

*Please note that some providers recognised and registered with us prior to January 1, 2025, may hold ACA Level 2 qualifications. This is due to a grandfathering clause applied during their registration under the standards at that time.
